Brian & Meghan

Brian & Meghan – Hometown Garden Wedding, Milton, WI

Let me see if I can get through this post without shedding tears. This one is for the heart!

Meghan always dreamed she’d be married in the front yard of her family home. Right on her front porch, overlooking the yard filled with garden flowers and cornfields. They mapped out where the tent would go and how everything would be arranged. Earlier this year, their family farmhouse caught fire and with only a few months left to plan this wedding, Meghan and Brian had to start fresh. A community pulled together and kept spirits high! Their dream wedding came true with the help of neighbors, friends, family, and so, so much love. Down the road, neighbor Bob offered up his beautiful property to host their wedding day. Their ceremony overlooked a gorgeous slice of land and the tent was placed perfectly to dance with the sunset. Friends and family made the food we ate and their helping hands created an atmosphere so loving and beautiful! A team, a family, a community that is too wonderful for words.

Meghan is a florist and photographer herself and today, it was her turn! Her mom made her bouquet <3 and Meg chose to get ready at her grandma’s house to spend some extra time with her. Grandma sang the sweetest wedding song in her rocking chair while Meghan was slipping into her gown and she watched from the window with a big smile while we took photos in her yard. Melt me. Brian suited up in his hotel room, cool as a cucumber. He and Meghan had letters to exchange to one another. Meghan read his letter at 3am that morning, she couldn’t sleep and couldn’t wait (so cute) and Brian let us hang in the room while he opened the one from Meghan. He read the first few lines, looked up and laughed that she already had a typo saying “That’s my Meg. Now I really know she wrote this!” and continued reading, only to find that Meghan had acknowledged the typo a few lines later knowing that he’d call her out. Hilarious, and such a perfect start to the day!

Meghan walked down a petal filled aisle on a gorgeous day towards her soon-to-be husband, who was waiting for her in front of a beautiful ceremony backdrop filled with flowers, plants, and doors hinged together from their house that had burned. That made it feel like home. They tearfully spoke their vows, gave a big kiss, and walked back down that same aisle as husband and wife! At the reception, Meghan surprised Brian with a video message from one of Brian’s groomsmen who celebrated from New York. The second Meg learned that he couldn’t make it to the wedding, she stormed over to his house and said “you’re not missing my wedding!” and proceeded to tape him giving a speech to share for Brian to see at the reception. Brian and Meghan gave thank-you’s to everyone who helped bring this day together, especially thanking their parents and Bob for his generosity. Bob is an auctioneer, so of course, with this many people on his property, he had to have an auction! Parents and couples pooled together to raise money for the couple to start their lives together. The selflessness and gratefulness that surrounded their wedding day was just out of this world incredible.

It doesn’t get much better than this wedding day for an endless amount of reasons. I can’t wait to share their wedding day story, it is one of my very favorites and one that I just know I was meant to be at! Love you guys x100!
