A Christmas Wreath

I seriously love the holidays. Like, LOVE the holidays. Family time, friends come to town, the smells of balsam fill up a room and things that twinkle take over. It’s extra exciting to have an apartment to fill this year, Hobby Lobby has become my second home and I am finally taking time to get creative in new ways and am stoked to check things off my “merry merry” Pinterest board in hopes to make this apartment of ours nice and cozy for Christmas. On my list, a wreath! We had some Christmas tree clippings that I saved, which started this grand idea. After realizing that the wreath probably won’t last too long with real pine needles, I took to the good ol’ Hobby Lobby 50% of section (aka, Heaven on earth) and bought some fixings that would help these real pines look lively!

Here are the goods:2014-12-17_0001 2014-12-17_0002

The specifics: wire, Christmas tree clippings, faux greenery, 9.5′ work garland, red berries

First things first, take shape! Wrap the work garland into your wreath shape. (It’s super flimsy at first, you may even want to purchase a ready made wreath shape like this one, but I personally wanted mine to look a tad dainty and more organic.)

I then cut little strips of wire and began to attach the fixings! This is the fun part. Fill in the gaps, make one side stronger (or not), add in pretty berries and attach some branches for strength and shape.
